Top Secret Slaughterhouse
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Get ready for some intense retro arcade action with Top Secret Slaughterhouse! Step into the role of a lone survivor standing against the hordes of robots, mutants, aliens and even former employees of this top secret facility in a pixel art bullet fest.
Top Secret Slaughterhouse is inspired by other bullet hell roguelikes like Brotato and Vampire Survivors. In order to survive you must kill enemies and collect both XP and their dropped data disks. Data disks lead to new weapons and more importantly, the way down to the next floor. Collect XP to gain levels and upgrade your weapon damage and the number of directions you're able to shoot as well as your health.
Current features:
- 4 possible floor types, each with unique enemies.
- 4 different upgradable weapons.
- 12 different enemy types (3 per floor).
- 2 Music tracks to listen to while you clear endless waves enemies.
UPDATES
3/13/2023
- New Music Track
- New Enemies
- Made selected upgrade more obvious on level up
- Fixed bug with audio volume
3/6/2023
- Removed the option to skip upgrading for a chance at a better upgrade next level. This code was never hooked up and several play testers tried to go this route in their build and expressed frustration.
- Changed health shard icon to a health box to make what it does more intuitive.
- Added another enemy that shows up after the player reaches level 8.
- Tuned XP drop amount.
3/5/2023
- Added new UI elements to track weapon info and stats. This should help give you an idea of how your weapons should be performing.
3/4/2023
- Exploding barrels now show up throughout floors. If an enemy is exploded by one of these, they will drop health instead of XP.
- Barrels are instant kill to all enemies (right now).
- Fixed a bug where weapons would continue to spawn on a floor even after you picked up that weapon type.
- Fixed bug where weapon upgrades would persist after restart.
3/3/2023
- Weapons no longer appear as a level up option, you must kill enemies to find red disks which will then give you a UI element to point you toward weapon crates.
- Added multi shot upgrade, each weapon can be upgraded repeatedly to fire in a maximum of 8 directions at once.
- Lots of minor bug fixes.

Because this game is not signed, Windows Defender is not a huge fan of the packed executable. I believe that the .zip file can be extracted and played without the Windows Defender trap page popping up if that's the kind of thing that bothers you (and it should). Let me know!
